PNLE experience
It’s been a week now..
Since I’ve seen my name on the roll of successful examinees in the Nurse Licensure Examination or PNLE and it has been 66 days since I took the said examination.
I can still remember the events transpired on December 19, 2011 - last day of PNLE.
After the last set of examinations, I found Kate (classmate and a good friend) sitting on the hallway of St. Paul - Manila that was our testing center. I chatted with her about the exam. She said it was hard (well, the expected answers from RN hopefuls). We waited for Alessa to finish the exam. It was past two in the afternoon when we decided to leave the school and look for a nearby church we found one but to our dismay it was closed. We begged, tried to talk him (the caretaker) into opening the church. We said we are desperately in need to get inside the church, to pray. He still said NO. So we said our goodbyes ‘cause my family was waiting for me at a nearby mall - Robinsons Manila.
When I was on my way to Robinsons Manila I felt as if I was floating… Like, so many events happened for the last two days yet I felt I didn’t participate in any of those. I was searching for them - parents and brother, and I was holding back my tears there’s so many people!
When I finally found them I excused myself and said I’ll go to the rest room. There I wasn’t able to control it. I cried like I never cried in my entire life! When I went back, they were shocked to see me in a horrible state. Then they asked “What’s the matter?” I answered: “I’ll never make it. I won’t pass!”
Yes, for a time I believed it! It was consuming me, I was full of doubt and disappointment. The exam was beyond words, it was hard! Effin hard! Yes, there was a possibility I’d fail, still I prayed that I’d make it.

I was browsing thru Review Center’s social networking site accounts for the updates re: PNLE Results release. When I stumbled to Dr. Carl E. Balita’s Facebook fan page.
*times of the posts are incorrect.
One of his latest posts intrigued me.
It said:

It was a hint! My heart was pounding!!!! I didn’t know what to do! haha So I stayed at my dorm waiting if it will really be out.
04:50 pm
Dr. Carl Balita posted another status:
I was shaking uncontrollably. My body turned jelly! I clumsily typed the Phillippine Regulations Commission website and its there! The PNLE Result! I opened every link available..
Loading the pages took an eternity! I was pacing back and forth my water jug fell, flodding my floor, my phone was thrown away, fell off my hands.
When I look at my laptop, the pages are still loading! I was like P.I! Ang tagal! So I decided to take a bath para lang may magawa! Haha!
After bathing, the only page that showed the result was the performance of schools so again, I clumsily searched for our school

There you go! Exhilarating 86.57%! Our batch Amber 2011. I was so thankful! When I saw the “failed” part I grabbed my rosary bracelet and prayed hard that hopefully I don’t belong in that group.
After 100 million years of loading Letter A appeared! The only available surnames was from Letter A - D. My shaking was more intense! I Ctrl F my name then voila!
:)) I was crying! I passed!! I thank God then hurried to my beaten up phone and called Mama, Papa, Nad, Auntie Nyra, Babet (my best friend), Mommy, Daddy, and Tita Milai (Clinical Instructor/Ninang/Family friend) to announce the good news!!
After that, I waited for Sai and went straight to St. Jude. I was so thankful, truly blessed I can’t contain my happiness. Sai hugged me and congratulated me, we’re both so happy! We celebrated by having a dinner (my treat! Bahaha!). Overwhelmed by the happiness, I wasn’t able to sleep that night! Haha

I finally saw my rating

…and yes! I am truly, truly, truly blessed! After the PNLE I only asked God for a passing rate/grade - 75.00% but instead, he gave me more. I love you Lord God! You’re the best!
After 59 days (weekends, holidays included) of agony, sleepless nights, and moderate anxiety attacks I can say, it is truly worth the wait! :)

This is a piece made by my very talented friend/classmate in college JOY SWEETHEART SOBITO posted when the December 2011 Nurse Licensure Examination Result was released
Here it goes..
struggling to let out what’s within
scratchin the paper with my pen
few more attempts just to say how i feel
for you, for us, for the times we shared
i still recall the sweats
the ret-dems, exams and case pres
seemingly endless hours making NCPs, drug anas and ros
the bed-cons and the q 1 VS
hey, is that a smile on your face?
dear amber who would forget
the five marias and the arogs for the unconditional love they shared
thanks because they gave us wings
thank you for the smile despite the stress
thank you for the strength amidst tempest
thank you for the hurts that spiced our quest
so as the music we shared throughout the years
to the dudes, the sisters and papansins
you are the morphine against the pain
the best medicine that remedied every complain
amber for the win!
i know dreams reside within every amber
no matter what keep the fire burning
we might be apart for miles and years
but remember,amber resides within
adios my friends
soar higher like a kite against the wind
keep shining God’s light on every patient
thank you for the bittersweet climbing
